Tidal Gauge

With the support of an Island Institute ShoreUp grant, the Chebeague Climate Action Team installed a solar-powered, ultrasonic tidal gauge on Chandler’ Wharf in the summer of 2023. The gauge delivers high-precision tidal measurements, available in real time below and on Hohonu’s dashboard. The tidal gauge, along with two basic tide staffs that CCAT installed for visual sightings, will provide a wealth of local data to build community awareness around climate change and inform future resilience planning.
