Collective Purchasing

Energy efficiency and electrification home upgrades will help you save substantially on your energy bill over the long term, but they require a significant upfront investment. That's especially true on an unbridged island, where contractors pass on the costs of getting here to us as customers.

Collective purchasing is one effective way to make these projects more simple and affordable on the island. CCAT is organizing residents to leverage our community's bulk purchasing power to reduce the cost and hassle of residential energy audits, insulation, and/or heat pump installation

To participate, sign up below before July 1st. Signing up does not bind you in any way to following through with these projects. Once CCAT has gathered a list of interested residents, we will request proposals from local contractors with bulk pricing offers that individual homeowners can then choose whether or not to pursue.

Why participate?

Reduce costs per family

By approaching these projects as a group of residents, we can take advantage of our bulk purchasing power to negotiate lower prices for energy efficiency and electrification goods and services.

Eliminate the contractor disincentive for island work

Island logistics are complicated, and it can be hard to convince a contractor to navigate them for just one residential project. When we pitch lots of projects together, we eliminate that island disincentive.

Simplify the process with clear-cut options

To select a contractor, we will solicit standardized proposals with clear-cut technology and pricing options from which to choose. This approaches makes for easy comparison and centralized review, eliminating much of the time and energy you might otherwise need to put into contractor vetting and proposal review.
